The Spirit of Boldness — In the early church, the disciples asked for boldness, so the Lord filled them with His Spirit. Because they were filled freshly with His Spirit, they became bold in speaking about God and showing His ways. The boldness of the Holy Spirit can lead to outward expressions of courage, quiet trust and assurance, living in new levels of freedom, and standing out prominently against an oppressed environment. Today is a new day to be filled with a fresh outflow of the Holy Spirit, leading to fresh outflows from our lives to others. We will more than likely face accusations from others as we simply experience more of God’s freedom, power, and impact. But we aren’t to run from the tension or address it with human effort or indignation. God will use these attacks to build our endurance for greater impact through the Spirit on those around us.
