God is sending His people into a world of darkness to be a light for the lost, broken, and hurting. Esther stands as an example of one who would risk herself for the deliverance of others. Esther’s decision to engage is what distinguishes the queen from the concubine. Concubines seek benefits of intimacy without responsibility. Queens know that the intimacy assumes the responsibilities of the Kingdom, which aligns with the king’s heart, and includes the joy of working in togetherness and the struggles of opposition.
