Loyalty Between God and the World – James loved the church and spent much of his letter warning them about having a loyalty to the things of this world that outranked their loyalty to God. The pursuit, attainment, and protection of wealth is a never-ending cycle that can consume the heart and become a cancer to the heart if it isn’t properly led of the Lord. The pursuit of the things of the world is fulfilling in many ways and can be just satisfying enough to satiate the native hunger for deep connection with God. God loves every detail of our lives, even down to the heart issues and the outcomes of our life choices. It is important to be aware that the abrasive language of James is for our good and freedom, to build us up and bring us closer to God and our families.
