The word “tithe” literally means “one-tenth” or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, is more than giving something to God out of routine or obligation. It’s giving with a heart attitude of love and thanfulness- remembering that we are simply giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives.

II Corinthians 9:7

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
